The Village of Wesley Hills is pleased to offer and endorse a Community Solar Program to our residents as part of our CCA Program. The program allows residents to subscribe to a share of a local solar farm in Waywayanda in nearby Orange County and go solar without actually having any rooftop panels on their home or property. Subscribers receive credits on their Orange & Rockland electric utility bill for the energy produced by their solar farm share. The solar developer for the project is Nexamp. Nexamp provides these credits at a 10% discount, allowing subscribers to save up to 10% on their electricity costs.
There is no upfront cost and no long-term commitment – you can cancel your community solar share with no early termination fees or penalties – exactly the same as your participation in the CCA Program!
Better still, the Village will receive a generous $50 donation from Nexamp for every resident who signs up. The Village Board has designated these funds to be used for a future environmental or beautification project in the Village.
To sign up for the Village’s Community Solar Program, go here. You will be redirected to the Nexamp site in order to subscribe. You may also call Nexamp directly at (800) 945-5124.
Here’s a short video which illustrates how community solar programs work.
